Happy Gifting Guide!

Thank you so much for your support this holiday season to my shop and to my fellow small business owners and makers! Your choice* to shop small has a direct impact on the people behind small businesses! I've rounded up some of my favorites goodies from my shop and from other artists, small businesses, and authors as a gift guide!

*Also want to acknowledge that it's a tough financial time for many and is a privilege to have money to shop with so no shame at all to folks who are not able to shop in this way. XO.

  • Jill Kittock's Tasteful Noods Shirt. Available in two colors here and here.
  • Shaquanda's hot pepper sauces. My favorites are this one and this one. Will spark a feud amongst friends if you throw it in the mix for a group gift swap.

BONUS TIP: A favorite recipes lately is Banana Bread Scones from Samantha Seneviratne. AND there is a new podcast episode of Home Cooking with all-time favorites Samin Nosrat and Hrishikesh Hirway!!

BONUS TIP: You can request most books at your local bookstore and they will order it for you if they don't already carry it! Along with supporting independent book stores, doing this lets the bookstore know that people are interested in the author/illustrator's work, which is so helpful to book creators!

Robin Wall Kimmerer's beautiful book: Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants, which is now available as a young adult version!

Thank you for considering shopping small this season and always! When you buy something from a small business, artist, or maker, oftentimes it's not just about buying some *thing* but also engaging with an idea, story, and feeling created by a person who cares about sharing something meaningful. I know it sounds kinda cheesy but it's true!! And maybe sometimes I'm kinda cheesy.
