New Year Studio Behind the Scenes
The past weeks have been a blur between some plans with family but mostly A LOT of painting for my upcoming book. Plus being frozen in winter. Thank goodness for color and delicious art supplies. Feels good to look at those blobs of color during this gray time of year.
Here's a look at what's going on in my studio lately:
I've been looking at a lot of blobs of color to figure out a palette. Looking at all the colors and texture does something good for my brain and I'm grateful that I can see them.

Each painting that I'm working on takes a loooong time and is built up with many layers. I made myself a note as a reminder to keep going with a painting through the messy middle phase even if I feel like it's not going to turn out. Sometimes it does turn out. And other times it doesn't and I have to start fresh. I guess a good reminder to try even with the risk of failing. And then try again if I do fail. There's some kind of life lesson within this work ;)
