An art print inspired by memories of gathering around the table with family to make our favorite foods like samosa:

We all gathered around the table to fill each bundle and carefully fold them up. I tried to figure out the geometry of it that eventually just becomes instinct. Not something you are breaking down but rather samosa muscle memory. Something that you build up. Feels good once you get there. But it can only happen through sitting and patiently watching and trying and messing up and trying again and then as you do your samosa exercise it turns into muscle memory.

Meenal's latest masterpiece

I have been an ardent admirer of Meenal's work for many years. Her subtle yet vibrant use of colors combined with subjects that are close to my heart, women, mothers, children, flowers, make me yearn to buy everything she creates. Whenever a friend has a new child or grandchild, I send them Meenal's books and have ensured that they are featured in the children's section of our library. I have so enjoyed watching her expand her vision to include fabrics and collaborations with other artists. I ordered her latest print picturing a circle of women making samosas, not only for myself but for my daughters as well. Meenal's imagination and artistry fill me with joy and I look forward to filling my home with her works for years to come.

About The Process

I love working with both traditional and digital mediums. Either way, all of my art starts out with a very rough and tiny pencil sketch. From there I refine the outlines of the art at the final size until I’m happy with the underdrawing. My favorite parts of the process are playing with color and layering in all the pattern details.
